Considering the dipping temps, you can’t help but think that its time to hang up our skirts for the year. However, it's definitely possible to stay cozy and chic during the colder months. So don’t trade in your skirts for slacks just yet. Mastering skirt combos can be a little tricky, but the mixing and matching possibilities are endless.

For a stylish transition from summer into fall, cropped sweaters, jackets and tops are always a winning combination.  When paired with a high-waisted skirt, cropped sweaters and tops are a great way to layer while still maintaining a great bulk of femininity.

Despite its boldness, plaid is appropriate for work. Although the classic print may appear to be a bit much when paired with varied textures or tones, the easiest way to style plaid is with solid, neutral colors and slouchy knits. If executed properly, the look is sure to make a statement.

In light of the fact that there isn't anything more lady-like, there's something so right about pleated skirts. Pairing well with everything from turtle-necks to v-neck shirts and button-down shirts, pleats offer a classic touch of sophistication that is a far cry from school uniforms and Britney Spears music videos.
