ASOS IS HIRING A PR MANAGER

The ideal candidate will be an experienced PR Manager with fashion and/or retail experience, who has proven media relationships and can effectively prioritize projects and develop and implement strategic PR plans. They will need to feel comfortable in a fast paced environment with multiple work streams, moving at different speeds.

Responsibilities

  • Taking direction from the global Communications strategy to drive proactive press coverage across all business areas – fashion, lifestyle, business, tech press
  • Feedback to ASOS Communications team on local market successes and recommended approach
  • The day-to-day management of media requests for product and information together with local PR agency and supported by US PR Co-ordinator
  • Manage internal stakeholders
  • Manage senior media relationships on behalf of ASOS and co-ordinate appointments
  • Manage and develop a media target list that includes press and influencers relevant to ASOS
  • Work with the Central Communications team to plan and implement a local PR timeline and events calendar
  • Manage the production of seasonal press events and launches
  • To support the PR team in coordination of retail and promotional information and be the key point of contact that connects all of the different departments
  • Striving to constantly improve planning, processes and procedures required to deliver PR coverage and new relationships
  • Ensure effective use of budget (where required) and creative resource
  • Understand business and departmental objectives and how they fit with local and .com market requirements
  • Work closely with other Country Communications Managers to ensure global messaging in key territories
  • Create project briefs together with Comms team input, working to budgets and timelines provided by PR team
  • Manage and develop growth of the Local PR Co-ordinator
  • Monitoring media on a day-to-day basis and adapt Communications strategy to suit local media requirements
  • Oversee the management of the Press Showroom ensuring relevant and up-to-date product is available

Given that this is within a fast-growing and rapidly changing organization, you need to have entrepreneurial qualities such as:

  • Previous experience working in a subsidiary for a medium to large global business, where there are set processes in place, would be useful
  • An enthusiastic and proactive attitude. This role is quite defined and has specific responsibilities assigned to it, but at ASOS you are also given the opportunity to develop roles further, to suit business requirements
  • Teamwork – ASOS is full of talented people, experts in their field. An important part of your job, especially at the beginning, will be building relationships between the different teams within HQ and local offices

  • Senior relationships with target media, stylists, bloggers and influencers
  • Experience managing people and ability to develop their skills
